Carol Lynn Sullivan

She was born on October 11, 1946, to Ernie J. Hopper and Leatrice Joy Rickett Hopper.

On August 21, 1965, Carol married the love of her life, Garry Wayne Sullivan, in Ellisville, Missouri. Together, they shared 61 years of marriage and built a warm, lively home filled with family, laughter, and the steady rhythm of everyday love.

Carol found joy in quilting, sewing, decorating cakes, and, most of all, having a house full of children - her own and everyone else's. Her home was a place where family gathered, children were always welcome, and memories were made.

Carol is survived by her devoted husband, Wayne, and their six children: Scott Sullivan (Katina), Shawn Sullivan (Cherie), Steve Sullivan, Spencer Sullivan (Kim), Stuart Sullivan (Angie), and Shannon Sullivan.

She was a proud grandmother to eleven grandchildren: Cody Sullivan (Hailey), Dylan Sullivan, Trevor Sullivan (Keeley), Austin Sullivan, Zachary Sullivan (Kayla), Hank Sullivan, Noah Sullivan, Bryanne Swinney (Justin), Jack Sullivan, Carter Sullivan, and Cade Sullivan.

Carol's family continued to grow with five great-grandchildren: Luke, Adilynn, Maverick, Dawson, and Evelynn.

She is also survived by her aunt, Anita Charette; brother, Glen Hopper; sister, Alene Warfield (Butch); sister-in-law, MaryAnn Sullivan; and brothers-in-law, Layne Sullivan (Jan) and Ron Sullivan (Peggy), along with many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Ernie and Leatrice Hopper; her brothers, Roger Hopper and Gerald Hopper; and her brother-in-law, Weldon Sullivan.

Carol's life was centered around the people she loved. The family she and Wayne built, the generations that followed, and the countless memories made in a house often full of children are a lasting reflection of a life deeply rooted in family.

A graveside service will be held Monday, September 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Midway Baptist Church Cemetery in Wingate, North Carolina
