

Charles Mullis III, (Charlie), age 57, of Waxhaw, North Carolina passed away on January 18, 2023 after a short but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded with love by his family when he passed. Charlie was born on April 12, 1965 in Mecklenburg County to the late Charles Mullis Jr. and Dorothy Walker Mullis.
Charlie is survived by the love of his life, Crystal, who he met in 1983 when he came to see her brother and it was love at first sight. To know Charlie was to love Charlie. They were married on January 12, 1984 and had 39 beautiful years together. Charlie was a wonderful man who never met a stranger. He made an impact on anyone who knew him, but to his family, he was the best husband, dad, son, brother, soldier and PoPoo.
In addition to his wife, Crystal, Charlie is also survived by his children, Charles Mullis IV and his wife, Sara; Travis Mullis; Casey Wanker and her husband, Nick; Cheyenne Mullis and daughter-in-law Nicole Mullis. He is also survived by his eight beautiful grandbabies, Sebastian Ridley, Gage Mullis, Grayson Willis, Charles Mullis IV (Boogie), Jaxson Wanker, Gavin Mullis, Judith Mullis (Juju) and Nora Wanker (Sissy). These 8 beautiful babies were his heart and soul! Charlie is also survived by his four sisters, Julie Griffin, Janie Kauffman and her husband Alex, Charlene Mullis and Gloria Guest. He also had numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved.
Charlie was a simple man, he loved God, he loved his family and he loved his country. He loved being outside, having bonfires, being with Crystal, playing with the grandbabies and having family around. He loved hanging out in the garage (his man cave), working with power tools and just tinkering around. Crystal was always with him as was his beautiful dog, Mattie. He was a happy man and so well loved! He loved Nascar, football, Superhero movies and cartoons. Charlie loved the beach at Oak Island and the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota and everything in between. He and Crystal loved to travel and had many adventures together.
