Mr. Ford was born March 29, 1947 in Charleston S.C., son of the late Edward Thomas and Helen Wrenn Ford. He was also preceded in death by a brother Eddie Ford.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe.
Services to celebrate the life of David will be Sunday, September 21, 2014 at 3:30 P.M. at Beulah Presbyterian Church, with Reverend Robert Talisin officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Ellen Rorie Ford of the Home, one son: Daniel A. Ford and wife Rachelle of Harrisburg N.C., two granddaughters: Rylee and Addison Ford.
The family suggests that memorials be made to Beulah Presbyterian Church, 8305 Landsford Road, Monroe N.C. 28112.
