Dennis, my ole friend. I spent about every Wednesday for several years beside you at JK’s Restaurant in Indian Trail for our breakfast that anywhere from 5-12 ole Sun Valley guys shared every Wednesday for several years. Until, and I’ll never forget, the day you said I’m going on home, I don’t feel well. . I never saw you again Dennis.  I miss you !!!   Ken Sykes !

Dennis was one of the wittiest people I knew. He always had a smile and a story to tell to explain his comment. I and all the men at the Wednesday's Johnny-K's Breakfast meeting will miss his presence and the  comradery  shared.  Yes, Dennis  will be missed by all. We will leave a vacant chair and a cup of coffee at the breakfast table for him from now on to show that Dennis is irreplaceable.  Rest in peace my friend.

I have been friends with Dennis Baucom  since childhood.  Although I have not lived in the area in many years, I still considered Dennis to be a good friend. We shared many experiences together in our high school years that he would probably prefer  not be shared publicly.  Dennis always thought of others first. He loved his family without condition and I am confident he was a great father, grandfather and husband.  I will always have fond memories of my time spent with Dennis Baucom. Best wishes to all of his family during these trying times.

Today was a sad day at our Johnny K’s Breakfast. You were missed , our friend Dennis. We all remembered 2 weeks ago when you left our breakfast, saying you weren’t feeling good. We all said prayers and take care of yourself, not knowing you wouldn’t join us again. We honored you today, my friend and will miss you always. . You are now with Jesus and the place we all yearn to be. We will carry on your memory, Dennis. All the guys send a big hey and are all lifting up your family in prayer. Rest well our friend . Never forget you. You impacted all our life’s

Although I didn’t know Dennis very well, Sandy kept my daughter Kristy when she was little. I got to  know Yvonne & Angela.  Please know that my thoughts & prayers are with your family during this difficult time.

Sandra and family, Coach was a great man and loved all his players. I have so many memories of him and baseball. He was always smiling and friendly. Thank you so much for sharing him with all those players and their families. I loved running into him at Quincy’s, he was always with his beautiful wife, so happy and full of spunk. I know he has already gotten a team together and playing ball in heaven. Big hugs and prayers.

I remember both my boys playing baseball against his teams from Piedmont.   He lived for baseball.  Watching him get upset over a umpires call .  Have great memories of him. 

Knowing Dennis all of my life reminds me of many memories.  He was an excellent athlete who first showed his skills on the RA baseball team as a young boy and continued playing sports through much of his adult life.  He was an all county basketball player at sun valley and continued his interest in sports later in life as a coach and leader statewide in babe Ruth baseball.  His greatest pride was in Sandra and his children and his love and dedication to them was obvious to anyone who knew him.  He also was a dedicated  lifelong member and contributor at Ebenezer baptist church.  We all would like to think that we have lived our lives in such a way that we made a positive difference in the lives of others.  Dennis met that standard without question .  

I grew up with Dennis, went to school together, hunted together, played ball together, attended Ebenezer Baptist all of our life and cannot say enough about the people who Dennis touched during his time here on earth, now he is with his Heavenly Father! Dennis was a true friend, I will miss him tremendously, he would go out of his way to help someone and give them a kind gesture or make them laugh! Dennis was someone who once you met or was around you would not forget. Love ya brother!!!
