The family of Dianne “Dicey” Courtney Nash shares the sad new of her passing on June 14, 2026, one day after her 80th birthday. Dianne was the only daughter of Herbert and Polly Nash of Monroe, NC.
Dianne attended Wingate Elementary and Forest Hills High School. At these schools she developed many lifelong friendships. After high school Dianne began a career with Aetna Insurance in Charlotte, NC. Eventually this led to an opportunity which apparently was her calling as an award-winning sales associate with Belks of Monroe. Dianne earned many awards for achievements in sales but none of these were as valuable to her as the relationships she developed with customers and colleagues. Her familiarity with her customers earned loyalty and friendship, sometimes noted officially. But more importantly was the lasting relationships which resulted beyond her work.
Dianne had a love of sports, which could be noted by how passionately she would follow these choices. Included among these was Forest Hills High School basketball. Through a family connection Dianne became a fan of early NASCAR races and even getting to know some of the names we associate with stock car racing. Later years, Dianne, her mother and Karen B began following Wingate University baseball extending into the years of the championship year. And somehow her last obsession was Duke University Men’s basketball.
Dianne grew up in a dedicated Christian family, attending Centerview Baptist Church in Marshville, NC. Later in life, she attended First Presbyterian Church of Monroe until health reasons limited her to watching the Sunday services on television of Charlotte Presbyterian.
A child, a sister, a sister-in-law, an aunt and a great aunt….Dianne had a deep, abiding love for family and thoroughly enjoyed the holiday gathering when the family could come together. Her feelings for her family from brothers Bill and Rusty; sister in laws Karen B and Karen L; her nieces and nephews Niki, Lucas, David, Rusty II and Meredith; her great nieces and nephews were known by all through her constant conversation on the topics of their lives, accomplishments. This was further confirmed by the photo gallery which dominated her den. She was also something of the genealogist of the family as the source of who were our cousins and how.
Dianne is now in a place of peace reunited with our parents in the presence of her God.
The family would also like to express our deep appreciation to those who gave her special care during this past period of her life. Blessings to you all.
Any gifts or memorials in honor of Dianne Courtney Nash please make to Hospice of Monroe. A celebration of Dianne’s life will be held at a later date.
