Donald Page Green

Don was born March 24, 1930 in Roxboro, NC to the late Edward M. Green and Delia Augusta Smart Green. He graduated from Person High School and attended UNC Chapel Hill before entering the Army. He started his career with the Internal Revenue Service in Greensboro. It was there that he met and married Thelma Wright on May 29, 1957.

They moved to Charlotte in 1965 where they raised two daughters. He became active in his church as a choir member and Sunday School teacher and enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his bedtime stories, dry sense of humor, ukulele playing, divinity candy treats, being a Tar Heel fan and taking good care of his family.

He was a man of faith and we are comforted to know that he is now with his Lord and fully healed. Mr. Green was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Thelma, in 2103. He is survived by his daughter Donna Green, daughter Sandy Rogers (David), and grandsons Jonathan and Austin Rogers.

The family is so thankful for the wonderful care provided by Brookdale Weddington Park Assisted Living, Home Instead caregivers Marietta Urton and Linda Starnes as well as the wonderful staff of Hospice. We have also been blessed with the love and support of family and friends.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Green will be held at 2:30 pm Sunday, August, 21, 2106 at Weddington United Methodist Church in the main sanctuary at 13901 Providence Road, Weddington, NC 28104. The family will receive friends in Helms Hall immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Caring Hearts of Weddington United Methodist Church, 13901 Providence Road, Weddington, NC 28104 or Hospice.
