Doris Dell Helms

Mrs. Doris T. “Dot” Helms, 88, died Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Hospice of Union County. Mrs. Helms was born July 9, 2003 in Stanly County, daughter of the late James Ralph and Lottie Morgan Teeter, she was also preceded in death by her husband; Vernon Talmadge “V.T.” Helms Jr., a son; Vernon Talmadge Helms III, two sisters; Lucille Gaddy and Inez Hayes. Visitation will be 9:30 until 10:45 A.M. on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Shiloh Baptist Church, Services to celebrate the life of Dot will begin at 11:00 A. M. in the Church Sanctuary with Reverend Don Whitner and Reverend Ron Hanna officiating, interment will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include one son: Mike Helms and wife Renee of Monroe, one daughter; Nan Helms of Monroe, two grandchildren; Garrett Helms and wife Kelly of Columbia S.C., Jonathan Helms of Toano Va., two great grandchildren; Sydney Helms and Abby Bartman, daughter-in-law; Robbin F. Helms of Toano, Va., one brother; Clinton Teeter of Oakboro N.C., step grandson; Rodney Johnson, step great granddaughter; Harleigh Johnson.
