Doris Edwards McWhorter

Doris Edwards McWhorter, age 76, of Waxhaw, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 29, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Union County, on July 19, 1939, daughter of the late James Wriston and Wilma Griffin Edwards.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Mickey Bernard McWhorter, and her brother, Pete Edwards.

She is survived by her son, Scott B. McWhorter (Teresa) of Monroe; daughter, Wendy Jenkins of Heath Springs; grandson, Smitty McWhorter (fiancé Amber), Scotty McWhorter, Trenton McWhorter and Trevor Jenkins; great grandchild, Payton McWhorter; her brothers, Max Edwards (Pat) of Peachland, Vann Edwards (Kathryn) of Marshville and Jerry Edwards (Gail) of Marshville; sisters, Virgie Baucom of Matthews, Ruby Baucom (Ronnie) of Monroe, Judy Thomas of Wingate and her sister-in-law, Lib Edwards of Marshville.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
