Dorothy Rollins

Dorothy Edwards Rollins, age 91, of Monroe, went to be with the Lord on March 18, 2017. She was born in Union County on May 26, 1925, daughter of the late Cyrus and Pearl Edwards. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Rollins; her son, Toby Rollins; her granddaughter, Michelle Rollins; her three sisters, Josephene Simpson, Verla McDonald and Ruth Gaskins and one brother, Craven Edwards.

Dot is survived by her daughters, Sherry Smith and husband Eddie, Kandy Pierce and husband Rodney "Roscoe"; her son, Jeff Rollins and his wife Darlene; her nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and her sister Lavinia Rollins.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 24, 2017 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe. A service to celebrate Dot's life will begin at 2:00pm in McEwen Funeral Home's Colonial Chapel. Interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Hospice of Union County for the care that Mrs. Rollins received from them.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Union County.
