She was born in Union County on January 7, 1928, daughter of the late John A. and Evelyn Price Bivens of Wingate, NC.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Joseph S. Larrimore and her brother, Robert Bivens.
She is survived by her five children, Phillip Larrimore, Paul Larrimore, Peter Larrimore (Carol), Donna Larrimore Dodson and Evie Jo Larrimore; her grandchildren, Dana Dodson Teahan (Patrick), Devon Dodson Gurley (Pastor Brian), Douglas Scott Dodson (Kristy), Christin Larrimore Little (Kenovtis), Joseph Larrimore, Jennifer Larrimore and Peter M. Larrimore; great-grandchildren, Henry Teahan, Jackson Gurley, Justin Gurley, Jay Gurley, Julianna Gurley, Olivia Dodson and Nolan Dodson; her brother, John A. Bivens, II (Mary Alice) of Arizona and a host of nieces and nephews.
Edith attended Wingate Junior College and Wake Forest College where she studied Music Education. She was always involved in church, choir, Women’s missions and serving Christ. As a social worker for Union County she served her community and was commended for her excellent work with the elderly. Her passions were Christ, her husband, family, classical and church music, floral design, gardening and book club. The family would like to humbly thank Hospice and Palliative Care of Charlotte and Guy Taylor for their exceptional care.
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 2:00pm Tuesday, September 25, 2018 in the Fellowship Hall at Wingate Baptist Church, 109 E. Elm Street, Wingate, NC 28174. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Larrimore will begin at 2:00pm in the church sanctuary. McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe is honored to serve the Larrimore family.
