Eddie was preceded in death by his father Derrel Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Kathy Johnson; his son, Chris Johnson and wife Heidi; daughter, Tammy J. Nobilski and husband John; two grandchildren, C.J. Johnson and wife Ashley and Kayla Johnson; his mother, Floreet Johnson; and his sister, Lynda Terry and husband Kenneth.
