

Mrs. Grace Delaine Carter, age 80, walked with Jesus through the shadow of death and now lives in victory with her precious savior in heaven in the dawning hours of Saturday July 2, 2016. The last enemy had no power over her because Jesus had redeemed her as His own. Bought with the precious and powerful blood of Christ she now abides in the promised place that Jesus said he would prepare just for her. Now free from the diseases of her body that she has suffered with over her life she can enjoy the promises of her heavenly home. She with her loved ones that were already there are praising God and enjoying sweet fellowship that cannot be known on earth.
Mrs. Carter was born March 24, 1936 the youngest child of John Isaac Blair Price and Annie Lenora Godfrey. She has lived all 80 years in Union County North Carolina except for a brief time as a young family they lived a year in Lancaster county South Carolina. She had five brothers and sisters: Clyde Price who preceded her in death, Elizabeth (Lib) Sherman Queensberry of Georgia, Robert Price of Columbia SC, Mable Medlin of Buford SC and Paul Franklin Price that died in infancy. Raised in a loving home by Godly parents she learned life lessons that shaped her life and formed the tight bonds of love for her brothers and sisters. They attended Corinth Baptist church where she was saved.
Mrs. Carter married Kenneth Roger Carter her High School sweetheart on April 9, 1955. They both graduated Mineral Springs High School. Mrs. Carter was a homemaker and farmers wife. Together they raised many good crops and five boys. They joined Mary Elizabeth Baptist Church and worshipped and served there throughout their lives. She loved teaching children about Jesus both in the home and in Sunday school. The church was the center of the social and spiritual life for her family. Many lifelong friendships were formed over the years.
She raised five good boys and delighted in her family. Her children are Roger Lenue Carter and wife Patti of Mineral Springs NC, George Michael Carter and wife Becky, Kevin Dwayne Carter and wife Gloria, Randal Scott Carter and wife Donna and Douglas Vann Carter and wife Joan all of Waxhaw, NC.
She cherished her Grandchildren and great grandchildren. Michael Damien Carter was her first and they are now together in heaven. She is survived by Nathan Carter and wife Stacey, Daniel Carter, Jeffery Carter and wife Christina, Joshua Carter, Johnathan Carter and wife Lyndsey, Elizabeth Carter, Jordan Carter and wife Connie, Brooke Carter, Chelsie Carter, adopted but equal Bryce Irwin, Alexis Starnes and Hannah Starnes.
Great grandchildren are Jonah Carter, Gabe Carter and Weston Carter.
The family will receive friends and relatives for visitation Tuesday July 5, 2016 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Carter will be 11:00 AM Wednesday July 6, 2016 at Mary Elizabeth Baptist Church with the Rev. Curtis Laney officiating; burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family would like to thank first of all our Lord and Savior for grace and comfort during our mothers illness and passing but also the wonderful staff of White Oaks Nursing Home of Waxhaw, the fine staff at CMC Union and especially the caring staff of Hospice and specifically the McWhorter house staff.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 West Roosevelt Blvd. Monroe, NC 28110 to honor the family and pass on the most cherished part of mother’s life – love.
