Hilde Curley, 83, was born February 9, 1943, in Germany, and passed away October 16, 2026. Formerly of Saugerties, New York, Hilde was a graduate of Saugerties High School and later made her home in Monroe, North Carolina.
Hilde found quiet joy in the work of her hands and the warmth of home. She loved all sorts of crafts—knitting, jewelry making, and puzzles—and she also enjoyed cooking and, most of all, spending time with family. In every setting, her steady care and openhearted generosity were felt, offering comfort through simple, thoughtful presence and a welcoming spirit.
Hilde will be remembered for being there for friends and family with consistent kindness and genuine concern—someone who made others feel at ease and valued. Her legacy lives on in the love she gave freely and the many lives she touched through her caring ways.
Hilde was preceded in death by her husband, Gerard M. Curley; her sister, Irene Dodig; and her parents, Ernst and Meta Martin. She is survived by her son, Peter M. Curley (Beth); her grandson, Brendan G. Curley; her brother, Gunter Martin; her sister, Anneliesse Kime; and many nieces and nephews.
Hilde will be laid to rest next to her husband of 32 years in Saugerties, New York.
