James Davis Hunnicutt

Mr. James D. “Jim” Hunnicutt, 81, died Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Carolina Medical Center-Union. Jim was born June 4, 1930 in Union County son of the late Anthony Cletus and Geneva Jane Griffin Hunnicutt, he was also preceded in death by his wife: Ruth Margaret Furr Hunnicutt and two siblings: Edna Hunnicutt Smith and Anthony “Al” Hunnicutt. Mr. Hunnicutt was a retired Salesperson. Visitation will be 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday, January 20, 2012 at the McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe, Services to celebrate the life of Jim will be 11:00 A. M. Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Shiloh Advent Christian Church, 3601 Sikes Mill Rd., Monroe N.C. 28110 with Rev. Brent Carpenter and Rev. Billy Mobley officiating, interment will follow in the Church Cemetery beside his wife. Survivors include one daughter: Melodie Hunnicutt of Columbia S.C., three grandchildren: Anthony Preston Helms and wife Sara of Kalamazoo Mich., Caroline Ruth Tillman and Husband Chris of Sunnyvale Ca., Andrew Davis Desilet of Columbia S.C., one great grandchild: Cavan Preston Helms of Kalamazoo Mich., one brother: Keith Hunnicutt and wife Eldis of Marshville N.C., numerous nieces and nephews.
