He was born in Union County on April 16, 1929, son of the late Henry Clifford Price and Nellie Jane Catledge Price. James graduated from Benton Heights High School as Valedictorian. He retired after over 40 years of service at Celanese.
Mr. Price was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Glenn Price; his brothers, Loyd Catledge Price and Edward Randolph Price; his sister Mary Evelyn Plyler and by his nephews, Warren Staggers and Arnold Thomas.
He is survived by his brother, Donald J. Price; his long-time companion, Hattie L. Christian and her extended family as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11:00am until 12:00pm Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe. A service to celebrate his life will begin at 12:00pm in McEwen Funeral Home’s Colonial Chapel. Interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.
