Judy Biggers Richardson

Judy was born on March 29, 1941 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina to Joe Allen Biggers and Elloree Rogers Biggers.

Her life was full of love for God, her family and friends. Judy was a devoted Christian and longtime member of Sardis Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 20 years and participated in several foreign missions trips.

Judy retired from BellSouth Communications after 32 years of service. After which, she began her second career as a semi-professional Globetrotter. She traveled the country to all but 5 of the United States. And then on to Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Great Britain, Cuba, and Israel. She truly enjoyed the memories and friends she made along the way.

Judy remained active even up until the day she went to her heavenly home; always working in her flower beds and taking care of the birds, deer, squirrels and other creatures who called her homestead their home.

Even with all her adventures, her heart belonged to her family – her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her much joy.

She will be greatly missed by all of her family; her husband, W. Ryon Edwards, Sr. of Lyman, SC; her daughter Wendy Edwards and husband, Danny of Laurel Bloomery, TN; her daughter Gail Craig and husband Chris of Matthews, NC; her grandson, Weston Craig, wife Allie and children, Jebediah, Noah and Landrie; grandson, Cameron Poplin, wife Ashley and daughter Emily; granddaughter Caroline Perry and husband Grant.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, James and her brother, Keith.

Family will receive friends on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 3 PM at Sardis Baptist Church at 3602 Unionville Indian Trail Road West, Indian Trail, North Carolina. Funeral service immediately following.
