

She was the daughter of Hazel and Ray Thompson and grew up with a love for family, friendship, and community.
June was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Joy Thompson, and leaves behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and determination.
June is survived by her devoted partner of 20 years, Bolivar Landires; her daughter, Kelly (Biddix) Dalton; son-in-law Rusty Dalton; and beloved granddaughter, Ella Dalton; her sister, Glenda Thompson; her niece and nephew; her lifelong friend, Amy Domingue; and her cherished feline companion, Gizmo.
A proud athlete in her youth, June played girls’ basketball in high school before beginning her career at NCNB in Charlotte, where she worked in automobile repossession. In 1993, she found her true calling in photography, owning and operating Photo Pro & More in Monroe for over 21 years. Through her lens, she captured milestones, memories, and moments that will live on for countless families in the community. June was a passionate UNC Tar Heel fan and enjoyed cheering on her team each season. She also held a special place in the world of motorsports as the president of the Harry Gant Fan Club, celebrating the career of “Mr. September.” June will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her sharp wit, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness and creativity.
The family will welcome friends at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe, located at 204 South Main Street, Monroe, NC. A Celebration of Life service will then follow the visitation at 3:00 p.m.
