Karen Gusler

Karen Gusler (Libby) 73, of Raleigh, NC, passed away on October 29, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 21, 1950, in Rockingham, NC, to the late Louise Jacobs Scarboro and William Floyd Scarboro.

Karen was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who brought immeasurable joy to her family, especially her grandchildren Hayden and Elizabeth. She spent her career as an Elementary School teacher, positively impacting the lives of many children. Karen's strong faith in Jesus Christ guided her throughout her life.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Jerry Gusler, her daughter Jennifer Gusler Hough (Chapin) and her grandchildren, Hayden and Elizabeth Hough. She was preceded in death by her mother, Louise Jacobs Scarboro, her father, William Floyd Scarboro, her sister, Brenda Scarboro Smith, and her sister, Lynda Scarboro Jenkins.

A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday November 12th, 2023 at 2:30 pm at Lakeland Memorial Park in Monroe, NC. The funeral arrangements are entrusted by McEwen’s Funeral Home. Karen will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of love, faith, and dedication to her family and students will forever be cherished. May she rest in eternal peace.
