He was born on July 15, 1941 to Shelly William Stack and Ola Starnes Stack.
Kenneth was a hardworking, strong willed and kind individual who loved the Lord and his family. He graduated from Mineral Springs High School in 1959. He married the love of his life, Lynda Gordon, on April 26, 1963 and they spent 63 wonderful years together. He retired from General Tire in Charlotte, NC after many years of service. He could always be found working in his yard, spending time with his family and listening to the Swap Shop and country music on the radio. He found much joy in helping his family with many tasks from baling hay with his son, Darin, to canning the vegetables from his garden with his wife, Lynda. He had a love of riding horses and spent many years traveling to horse shows with his granddaughter, Charlotte and her horse Skip, and trail riding with his son Bryan. He faced every challenge set in front of him head on and without complaint; his constant perseverance and resilience was inspiring to all. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Lynda Gordon Stack and sons Darin Stack (Brenda) of Marshville and Bryan Stack (Melanie) of Waxhaw, his grandchildren Shaun Stack (Micaela), Bethany Williams (Austin), and Charlotte Helms (Cody), 7 great-grandchildren, and siblings Tommy Stack, Wency Bounds, Patsy Talbert and Shelly Jr Stack.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Wade Stack, Garner Stack, Ervin Stack, Vernon Stack, Stacey Stack, and Carol Little.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026 at 10:00 in the morning with funeral service following on Friday, September 4, 2026 at 11:00 in the morning at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe, 204 S Main Street, Monroe, NC 28112. Burial will be at Lakeland Memorial Park. immediately following funeral service.
