

He was born on December 13, 1951, to the late Robert and Lucy Mills.
Lee was a native of Union County who worked as a machinist for several years before retiring. He was also an ordained minister who loved the Lord with all his heart and enjoyed sharing his faith with those he met. He loved listening to music and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Lee is preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Jean Mills; sister, Anita Robinson; and granddaughters, Kinley Hamilton and Gracie Mills He is survived by his children, Betty Jean Hamilton (Treg), Johnny Lee Mills (Danielle), and Jessica Ann Campbell (David); grandchildren, Jacob Kimbrough, Cameron Ashley, Elyssa Osuch, Ethan Hamilton, Nathan Campbell, Gabriel Campbell, and Chloe Mills; great-grandchildren, Lucia Kimbrough, Valerie Hamilton, and Kathrynne Campbell; and sisters, Norma Keziah (Ricky) and Nora Kinard.
A service with military honors will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 2:00 pm at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe, located at 204 South Main Street, Monroe, North Carolina. A time of fellowship and refreshments will be hosted at his eldest daughter’s home immediately following the service.
