

She was born on December 30, 1947, to the late Johnie P. and Verena Aycoth.
Linda was a Union County native and graduated from Forest Hills High School. During her life, Linda had two careers with her most meaningful being a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) where she loved being a caregiver to the elderly that were in her care. Linda had many loves and interests in her life including true crime stories, reading, solving crosswords, and playing games, especially solitaire. She was also fond of the beach and enjoyed listening to the sound of the waves. More importantly, Linda loved and treasured her children and grandchildren and enjoyed the precious memories she made with them.
Along with her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her son, William Jason Phillips. She is survived by her loving husband, William Phillips; children, Andrew Phillips and Brad Phillips; grandchildren, Brice Phillips, Carter Phillips, Grey Phillips, and Meagan Phillips; great-grandchildren, Naviyah Phillips, Chayton Phillips, and Maru Phillips; brother, Steve Aycoth; and niece, Gina Aycoth.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe, located at 204 South Main Street, Monroe, North Carolina. A funeral service to celebrate Linda’s life will be held following the visitation at 12:15 pm in the McEwen Colonial Chapel with burial following immediately after the service at Lakeland Memorial Park.
