

Born on March 15, 1940 to James and Lydia Crowley, Lois was a lifelong Union County native. She was a graduate of Wesley Chapel School and attended Trinity Baptist Church. She also worked in Pharmaceuticals at R.P. Scherer in Monroe, North Carolina for several years before retiring.
Along with her parents, Lois is preceded in death by her husband, George W. Hinson, Sr.; and grandson, Spencer Mullis. She is survived by her children, Sharron H. Mullis (Bengie) of Monroe, North Carolina; Karen Renaye Hinson-Mullis (Rick) of Wingate, North Carolina, and George W. Hinson, Jr. of Mississippi, and Patsy McWhorter of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina; grandchildren, Jonathan Mullis, Corey Mullis, Victoria McWhorter, Ian Hinson, Ethan Hinson, Taylor Hinson, and George W. Hinson III; and 7 great-grandchildren, August (Gus) Mullis, C.J. Mullis, Ella Mullis, Theo Mullis, Aubrey Hinson, Keaston Hinson, and Ahliana Hinson.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe, located at 204 South Main Street, Monroe, North Carolina. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at 1:00 pm in the McEwen Colonial Chapel with Pastor Dac Croasmun presiding. Committal will be held at a later date in Lakeland Memorial Park.
