Lorre Mills Little

Lorre was preceded in death by her father, James Emmet Mills; her mother, Mildred Griffin Mills Cuthbertson; her brother, James Kenneth Mills; her sister, Wanda Mills Whitaker; and nephew, Brandon Allen Whitaker. She is survived by her daughter, Jamie Carol Little; brother David Mills (wife Joyce); sister, Evelyn Ennis; sister, Lesa Ratliff (husband Roger); and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Lorre had a passion for cooking and loved to watch cooking shows with her daughter, family get togethers and taking family vacations together. She loved going to gospel and country concerts. Lorre’s greatest achievement other than her daughter was that at a much later time in her life, she went to nursing school and achieved her mother’s dream of becoming a nurse.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe, located at 204 South Main Street, Monroe, North Carolina. A funeral service to celebrate Lorre’s life will be held following the visitation at 3:15 pm in the McEwen Colonial Chapel with Pastor Jeff Whitecotton officiating. Burial will follow immediately after the service at Mount Moriah Baptist Church cemetery in Marshville, North Carolina.
