A woman of deep and abiding faith, Margie viewed her life as "just one long story of a God who loves me and has shown me grace after grace after grace no matter what.” She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who set a Christian example for her family and all who knew her. Born in Ona, WV, the youngest of eleven children, she married Jack Perry before her 17th birthday. Margie dedicated her life to her family, a role she considered her "noble calling". As the wife of a West Virginia State Police trooper, she raised their sons, Doug and Russ, in several communities across the state, including Premier, Oak Hill, Canvas, and Hamlin. Her faith in God was a cornerstone of her life, and she served her church communities in many ways, including directing Vacation Bible School, helping to establish a Junior Church program for children, teaching Sunday School, and serving as a leader for the Young Life ministry.
She is survived by her sister Bettie; her sons, Douglas (Diana Ma) Perry and Russell (Janice) Perry; three grandsons, Matthew (Alissa), Nathan (Sarah), and Steven (Megan), six great-grandchildren, many nephews and nieces and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Perry; her parents, Clyde, Sr. and Margaret "Stella" Yoho; nine siblings, Denver, Maye, Opal, Jim, Emaline, Geneva, Clyde, Jr., Dale, and Allen; and her beloved nephew and childhood best friend, Jack Pinkerman.
No public service is planned or memorial donations requested. Burial will be planned for a later time with a private gathering of immediate family.
