Mrs. Martha Sue Elliott Walters

Mrs. Martha Elliott Walters, 71, died Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Carolina Medical Center-Union. Mrs. Walters was born May 6, 1939 in Kershaw County, daughter of the late John Marvin and Ara Hough Elliott; she was also preceded in death by her siblings: Margaret Elliott Hall, Willie Elliott Gregory and John Frank Elliott. Martha worked for many years at Monroe Savings and Loan and retired from the Union County Clerk of Court office. Visitation will be 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday evening at the McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe. Services to celebrate the life of Martha will be 2:00 P.M. Friday in the McEwen Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Ray Lowe and Mike McGee officiating, interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Survivors include her husband, Archie Walters, one son: Douglas Walters both of the home, sisters: Nancy Elliott Ogburn and husband Gary, Mary Elliott Jones and husband Bobby all of Camden S.C., brother: Dick Elliott and wife Anne of North Myrtle Beach S.C.
