Mary Katherine Lawson

Katherine was born in Spartanburg, S.C. on January 10, 1933, daughter of the late Lacy and Pearl Goforth. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck Lawson; her brothers, W.C. Goforth, Preston Goforth and by her sister, Margaret Greene.

Katherine is survived by her sons, Bill Lawson (Deb), Mike Lawson (Laura); her daughter, Cathy Rea (Randy); her grandchildren, Monica, Katie (Matt), Kevin, Taylor (Tony), McKenzie (Jared), Landon (Delaney), Calvin and Kerrington; her great-grandchildren, Kayla (Brent), Kerris, Cooper, Junior and Bowen; her great-great-grandson, Harrison; her brothers, Sonny Goforth and Glynn Goforth as well as many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Lawson will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, 6907 Gus Eubanks Road, Monroe, NC 28112.
