Minnie "Pete" Craig Hayes

Mrs. Hayes was a daughter to the late Welch Washington and Sarah Minnie Kiker Craig.

Mrs. Hayes was a member of Bethel Methodist Church of Monroe. She will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother and for having a love of gardening and dancing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Walter Hayes and nine siblings; brothers, Ray, Marvin, Harry and Fred Craig; sisters, Mae Helms, Mary Crook Jarman, Letha Reed, Kathleen Alexander and Lucy Courtney Crump.

She is survived by her immediate family; her son, Craig Franklin Hayes and wife Denise of Charlotte, NC; several nieces and nephews and close friends who will cherish her memory.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 10:00am until 12:00pm at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe with the funeral service beginning at 12:00pm in McEwen Funeral Home's Colonial Chapel. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park in Monroe.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region or Mill Grove United Methodist Church, 3207 Wesley Chapel Stouts Rd., Monroe, NC 28110.

The family would like to thank her caregivers and the staff of Jesse Helms Nursing Center for their love and compassion to Mrs. Minnie Hayes during her illness.
