

She was born on January 8, 1949, to the late Albert and Amy Craig Helms.
Along with being both a wonderful wife and mother to her husband and children, Nancy worked for 3M Scott Safety for several years before retiring. She had many hobbies and interests in her life including sewing, quilting, gardening, and crafting. Nancy also enjoyed reading, journaling, and Bible studies as well. She was a lifelong and faithful member of Central Baptist Church and was an active participant with the Senior Saints.
Along with her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her children, Charlotte Elliott and Jeff Rogers. She is survived by her loving husband of over 53 years, Ernest T. Rogers; children, Pepsie Phifer (Ricky), John Rogers (Wendy), Kim Rogers, and Jessica Price (Fred); grandchildren, Rick Phifer (Amy), Cam Phifer, Taylor Rogers, Justin Rogers (Erin), Brandon Harrington, Joey Starnes (Samantha), and Whitney Rogers; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and brothers, Bub Helms (Michelle), Chuck Helms, and Ronnie Helms (Kelly).
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe, located at 204 South Main Street, Monroe, North Carolina. A funeral service to celebrate Nancy’s life will follow the visitation at 12:15 pm in the McEwen Colonial Chapel with Pastors John Green and Larry Helms officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Lakeland Memorial Park in Monroe, North Carolina.
