Patricia A. Melton

Born February 28, 1948, she was a lifelong resident of Union County and was a graduate of Sun Valley High School. Ann worked as a teaching assistant for over 30 years. She loved teaching children and touched many lives during that time. She also loved and treasured her family and served as a caregiver to many of them throughout her life. She enjoyed being outdoors and working in her flowers and served and attended as a faithful member at New Salem Baptist Church.

Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Melton; parents, Robert “Marvin” and Martha “Nell” Harrington; and brother, Harold Harrington. She is survived by her son, Chris Melton (Crystal) and daughter, Karen Widenhouse (Mick); grandchildren, Mallory Melton and Liza Melton; brother, Allen Harrington (Frances Baucom); and sister, Carol Williams (Russell).

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at New Salem Baptist Church, located at 2915 Goldmine Road, Monroe, North Carolina. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held following the visitation at 12:00 pm in the church sanctuary with burial immediately following the service at the church cemetery.
