Peggy Louise York

Peggy Louise Carpenter York, 73, of Monroe passed away peacefully at home on January 12, 2022. She was born in Charlotte on October 2, 1948 to the late Joseph Pruette Carpenter and Louise Kiker Carpenter.

Peggy had a long career as a Vice President of Operations in investment banking. She married her childhood sweetheart, Walter William “Billy” York on June 14, 1969. When their children were young, Peggy and Billy moved to Monroe.

Peggy is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Billy York; daughter, Shannon Norwood and her husband, Patrick of Unionville; son, Adam York and his wife, Kathy of Nicholasville, KY; four grandchildren are Jonathan York, Pruette Norwood, Jacob York, and William Norwood and her brother, Joseph Carpenter of Charlotte.

Due to the increase in Covid cases, the family will have a private celebration of life at their home at a later date.
