

He was born on March 18, 1952, to the late John Thomas and Barbara Jean Deese.
Richard was a graduate of Forest Hills High School in Marshville, North Carolina and later worked as a mechanic at S & K Garage in Waxhaw, North Carolina. Richard had many interests and enjoyments in his life including bowling where he was a part of the Brunswick Coliseum Charlotte Ridge Runners Rowdy Bunch bowling league from 1987-1988. Golf, however, was his favorite sport. Richard was an avid golfer and was a participant of the Tin Cup tournament where he began playing in its second year of inception. After suffering a stroke, Richard continued to participate and even won the D division four years ago. He loved his mustangs and was known affectionately as a “Ladies Man”. More importantly, Richard loved his family, including even friends that he considered as family. He was a special person who touched many people’s lives.
Along with his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his sister, Vickie Gail; and brothers, Danny Ray and John Deese, Jr. He is survived by his children, Richard Deese II, Nicholas Deese, and Tammy Deese Medlin (Ervin); grandchildren, 2 from Richard Deese II, and 4 from Tammy Deese Medlin; and great-grandchildren, 6 from Tammy Deese Medlin.
