Born on August 6, 1946,
Rita devoted her life to the art of dance and to the children she taught throughout her remarkable career. She proudly owned and operated the Rita Hava School of Dance before continuing her passion as the owner of Mineral Springs School of Dance. For generations of students, her dance studios were more than places to learn steps—they were places where confidence grew, friendships flourished, and a lifelong love of dance was nurtured.
Her impact extended far beyond the studio walls. Rita’s passion for dance became a cherished family legacy, filtering down through her daughter, Veronica Walker, and her granddaughter, who continue to share and celebrate that same love of dance with others.
Rita was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Terry Sterling, who passed away in 2011.
She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Veronica Walker, her son in law Kenny Walker and her beloved grandchildren, Kenley Walker and Bailey Walker; and the many students, families, and friends whose lives were forever enriched by her kindness, encouragement, and unwavering belief in their potential.
Rita will be remembered not only as an exceptional dance instructor and business owner, but as a mentor, role model, and friend. Her grace, compassion, and dedication created a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire future generations. Though she will be deeply missed, the joy she brought through dance and the love she shared with so many will never be forgotten
