Tod was such a nice man. He would jumpseat through CLTR every week. We really miss him and send our condolences to his family.

Ann and Jimmy,

Patti and I offer our deepest condolences for your loss. I first met Tod when he bid a trip as a first officer with me on the Boeing 737.  Years later, it was a pleasant surprise when he was the instructor pilot for my Airbus A-330 qualification. They were great memories of flying and conversation with a great guy.

Forty-Eight years of great memories have poured fourth. 

A lifetime of experiences together, and never a bad moment.

To have had the opportunity to call Tod my friend, my best friend, is something I've always cherished...and will always cherish.

We lived a common approach to life... Approach with Enthusiasm, Think Big, Execute with Quality. Tod's achievements and legacy are a testament to his spirit and dedication.

I'll miss all of the future memories that we planned.

I close my eyes and there he is, behind the wheel of that SS-396 Camaro, ...Riding with him is an experience I'll never forget. He inspired confidence, trust, security. It was in his DNA.

I met Tod about 7 yrs ago here at FedEx while he was a professional instructor on the Airbus.  I had previously held that job for several years but had recently transitioned to flying the line on the B727.  Soon it was time to return to the Airbus as a line pilot and when I show up for training I noticed we had a new instructor that I didn't know.  My training partner was also a prior instructor like me and neither one of us had ever met Tod.  We could tell and Tod later admitted that we were one of his first crews as a fully qualified Airbus instructor and he was a bit worried he would make a mistake under our watchful eyes.

Well lots of mistakes were made,  but they were made by my training partner and myself.  We kept Tod on his toes and the whole training session was filled with laughter as he guided us toward our goal.  He was a fantastic instructor to be able to put up with us.  I didn't realize it at the time just how good a friendship Tod and I would have.

Tod had an amazing outlook on life and a smile that was contagious.  Over the past few years I managed to have many heartfelt conversations with him and get a glimpse at what a remarkable man he was.  My heart breaks over the loss of such a wonderful person and my prayers go out to Anne and the rest of the Family.


I had the privilege of knowing Tod as a dear neighbor and the honor of flying with him at USAir.  What an awesome man . . . integrity, intelligence, kindness, humor .   .   .  one cannot say enough.  He will be missed on this earth.  I pray all the USAir family in Heaven greeted him and are all flying high! My heart breaks for Anne and Jimmy, and the rest of Tod's family. Ann and family, I am so sorry to hear of Tod's passing.  We all are still in shock and disbelief.  Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers at this very difficult and sad time.  Tod was always very professional and pleasant  to work with.   He made sure that his staff knew that he appreciated us.   He has  left a very powerful legacy at Flight Training and he will be missed tremendously by so many.  

Tod was a beautiful combination of likeability and intelligence that made him a pleasure to work with.  I can only imagine how much greater the loss is to his loved ones.  My condolences on your momentous loss.
