I was saddened to see this. Ron and I became friends at Western Carolina.
We had some great times there.
After graduation we attended WCU football games together with some other couples.
After his move to Monroe , we stayed in touch and anytime I was there I would go see him.
Unfortunately time, family obligations , and careers caused us to not be able to get together other than an ocassional visit in Marshville. Job assignments several years ago prevented trips to Marshville.
He was a great guy and I was fortunate to be able to call him my friend.

I am so sorry for your loss. I so enjoyed the times I spent talking with Ron either at functions in Marshville or the fire department breakfast gathering. He was indeed a very kind and personable gentleman and will be missed by all.
