Kenneth was a loving husband and father, uncle, and friend. He was born in Union County on August 12th, 1939, to the late Brady and Nettie Craig Rushing. He retired from Charlotte Pipe and Foundry after 34 years of loyal service.
Kenneth was predeceased by a daughter, Rita Ann Rushing, to whom he was affectionately known as “Poppie”. She was the light of his life. He was also predeceased by all his siblings; Ruby Ballard, Carl Rushing, Bernice Stancill, Ann Cooke, and Cecil Rushing. Kenneth leaves behind the love of his life, Bennie Tucker Rushing. They were together for over 60 years. She was his best friend. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 18th, 2026, at 12:30 pm at Hillcrest Baptist Church, where Kenneth was a loyal and faithful member. The church is located at 4316 Hillcrest Church Road, Monroe, North Carolina, 28110. The service will be conducted by Kenneth’s pastor, Kelly Austin. A visitation will be held prior to the service at the church from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm. Burial, with military honors, will follow immediately after the service at the church cemetery.
