

Her final days were spent surrounded by her children and husband. She was born September 28, 1936, in Monroe, North Carolina, and was the daughter of the late James and Dorothy Belk.
Ruth graduated from Walter Bickett School in Monroe NC. She was a homemaker and a friend to many. She was known for her incredible cooking and in particular her cakes! She was very creative, people would come from miles around to see her Christmas trees and decorations, they were different every year. Ruth also had a passion for fashion. She also loved her children making sure they had everything necessary to become successful adults.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Terry Ralph Rimmer; and brother, Johnny Belk.
Ruth is survived by her loving husband, Willis Glenn Rimmer, Jr. Her son, Willis Rimmer of Monroe, and her daughter Julie Rimmer Applewhite (Dan), of Midlothian, VA; and a brother, Jimmy Belk. Ruth is also survived by four loving grandchildren, Thomas Harding Applewhite, Talley Belk Applewhite, Charlie Leah Rimmer and Elisabeth (Lissa) Rimmer.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Mill Grove United Methodist Church, 7311 Mill Grove Road, Indian Trail, NC 28079. "The Chapel" (old church) with Rev. Hugo Villagrana officiating. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be given to Mill Grove United Methodist Church by sending to the address above.
