It has been one year since you changed your residence. I know that it is beautiful and so peaceful where you are, but we miss you so much. Thanks for the good memories that you left for all of us. You were so full of laughter even when you were in so much pain. I am thankful for such a crazy sister. I remember the Sunday at Hospice House that we laughed all day. If people had just heard us, they would have never known you were living your last days. Ranelle and I talk about you alot. We miss you soooo much Sally Mae. Love you Flossie Mae Pumphandle (Jane)

Hey Mom! So I put an entry in last night but I cant find it anywhere so I am doing another one. 
One year ago today we all had to say goodbye to you. You were ready to go home to be with the Lord and my Daddy. The cancer took the strongest, most independent and beautiful person I know and turned her into a fragile, dependent but still beautiful person. You fought against it strong and hard. You beat breast cancer years ago then the lung cancer was in remission but you just couldnt fight any longer with the brain cancer. But you never gave up your will to fight it! And you always had smile, laughter and quick wit.
There is not a day that goes by that I dont think about you and miss you. A lot has happened in the year you have been gone. But I know you and Daddy are watching over us and helping us along the way. There are some days I hear you talking to me and helping me with decisions I have had to make. Some might say thats crazy but not me. Or Mike for that matter. He has told me he feels you with him sometimes and he knows you are watching over him also.
I try to think about all the good times we had. But there are a couple that always come to mind. One is the last Christmas you were with us. We wanted you to have the best Christmas ever and I think you did. I think we all did. We had so much fun! It wasnt even about the gifts but about being with each other and laughing and cutting up, which you are well known for even when you werent feeling good. The one thing that really made me smile though was when you were trying to get all the stuff out of your stocking. You were like a kid and I loved that. Another time that always comes to mind was the last Easter. Even though you were not feeling that great you were still overjoyed to be with your mom, sisters and us. Your Family! You had your birthday hat and the bunny ears. You had to wear both at the same time. There was a lot of laughter that day.
Even though I try to just think of the good times, the bad times-the days you were not doing good- still creep in. So how I wish you did not have to go through the pain. But like I said you were a fighter to the end! As long as you had your family you were alright.
Im told that as the years pass, it gets a little easier. I hope this to be true. Right now its pretty tough. But I know I will survive and get through it. I know because I know you are with me every day. I feel you in my heart. And as I said before, I am my mothers daughter and I am a fighter! I MISS YOU! I LOVE YOU MOM!!!

Hey Mom! Well I've had a lot on my mind this week, especially today. Tomorrow will be the one year anniversary of the day you were taken from the ones who love you so much. It has been one whole year without my beautiful mom and my best friend. I MISS YOU SO MUCH! There is always something that reminds me of you. Im just glad that we were able to still have some good days the last few months of your life. One in particular was Easter 2010. We all had so much fun and you were so cute with your birthday hat and rabbit ears that Mike got for you. Another one was Christmas 2009. We wanted you to have a great Christmas and I know you did! It wasnt even about the gifts, even though you were addorable trying to get everything out of your stocking. With you it was always about just being with your family and being happy. And I also still have the picture of us with our bubba teeth on the refrigerator. Those are the days I try to remember most. However, sometimes the other days sneek in my mind. Like today. I keep thinking where we were one year from today. Me, Mike and Chris stayed with you and played cards. I remember looking over at you lying in bed with your eyes shut. Not sure if you were sleeping the whole time or just playing possum and listening to us have fun. There were times I looked at you and you were smiling so I think some of that time you were playing possum. You were just happy with us being there and playing cards. Your family! Then I think about us staying with you and what the morning brought. That morning changed our lives forever.But, like I said before, I am getting through it because I am my mothers daughter! I know you are with God and you are forever with Daddy just like you always wanted. I miss you! I LOVE YOU MOM!

Hey Mom! Sorry it has taken me awhile to be able to type an entry. I just started going through some of your things.Its going ok until I come to cards or things I know meant a lot to you. I miss you so much! Some days are better than others. It was hard in the beginning not to call you in the morning just to say hey. Thats something I had to get use to. Still not completely there though. Especially when the kids are sick or something special happens. Just the other day I had to take boys to the doctor and the first thing I thought was that I needed to call you to let you know how they were and what the doctor said. Then I realized No, I couldnt call you. But the time I really missed you was when I took boys to beach and I was laying out. That was our time to relax and catch up on things and just talk. Those days I cherish. I know you are where you are suppose to be now but it doesnt make things easier. However, I will get through it because I am my mothers daughter! I miss you Mom! I LOVE YOU!

Alice was so much fun as a friend in high school.  She will be missed so much but you must have some wonderful memories.  She was such a special person. I am sorry for your loss and thinking of all of you.  Mary Ellen Goodwin
