Surviving Sharon is her mother Montie Tomberlin of Monroe, brother Gregory Tomberlin (Susan) of Indian Trail and the Greene family to whom she remained very close. Also, especially close to Sharon was her lifelong best friend, Donna Oakley.

I was heartbroken when I learned of Sharon's passing. We worked together many years at Duke Energy. We enjoyed each others company and were lunch buddies. She fought a courageous battle and now she can rest. My prayers go out to her family.

I have many fond memories of Sharon. We were roommates at Duke Power’s Residential Marketing School in 1983. We continued to work together throughout her career at Duke. Sharon had such a kind spirit. I enjoyed working with her over the years. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I worked with Sharon at Duke Energy for many years. Sharon was smart, pretty, friendly and professional. Everyone liked Sharon ... customers and co-workers alike. She was my friend and someone I admired, especially as she so bravely fought her cancer. Rest in peace, Girlfriend and know you made a difference our lives. XOXOXO

The first time I met Sharon was at Food Lion on Sunset. Unknowing we were both on our way to Sherry's for her wedding to Eddie. We bonded at that moment and remained friends.
Sharon was a beautiful lady with a soul to match. She will be missed but we know she has joined Barry in heaven.
