My heart is broken and full of sadness.  I go to tennis, and I can’t find you. I hear your voice; I see your smile. I feel your presence after a while. I know that you are in a better place; our Heavenly Father will keep you safe.  Until we see each other again, I will miss you my dear sweet friend.

My prayers are with Susan’s family.  Susan was an amazing person.  I feel very blessed to have known her.

Susan and Kenny have been our neighbors for many years and are treasured friends.  Susan never failed to put a smile on my face and brighten my day.  I always looked forward to seeing her outside with the dogs and chatting about any and everything.  We both loved animals and that particular bond we shared grew especially over the last year in the funniest and most unexpected way.  We prayed for one another and our families, laughed often, and shed a few tears.  One thing we knew for sure is that we were always there for one another.  She was the kindest and sweetest person.  She loved her family more than anything and I know her spirit will live on in each of them.  I have no doubt where she is and who she is with.  We love you so much Susan and will miss you greatly!  I am praying that God will continue to provide comfort, peace and healing to the entire family in the days to come.

Dear Larry and Carrie, we are so sorry for your loss and our deepest sympathy to Kenny and their children. The obituary was such a touching tribute to Susan and what she meant to your family. I was lucky enough to spend time and celebrate life milestones with all 3 of the amazing Wright women. I will never forget your bachelorette, Leah, where your mom was the life of the party and at your wedding, where she was queen of the dance floor. Mrs. Wright was such an amazing woman and had the most beautiful soul - I’m blessed to have known her and grateful to be friends with her incredible daughters ❤️ your family remains in my thoughts and prayers. Love you all ❤️

I met Suz and Kenny when they were living above me at our first houses 40 years ago, and always bugged them when I’d play my Roxanne song, as well as playing tennis with them and going to W Carolina games, hanging out, etc….Suz was always fun and pleasant to be with, and to bounce ideas off of, as she had great opinions and advise - my condolences to Kenny, Leah, and Lauren, and the rest of the family.

My deepest condolences to Kenny and the family.  I went to WCU with Susan and Kenny. I have many fond memories of the summer we both worked at the  Wildcat country club in highlands. Susan was such a sweet girl, with a great sense of humor and bright smile. I just reconnected with her recently on FB. I know she’s going to be missed by many

I first met Susan on the tennis courts ....of course.  She was a tiny, little thing but could run like a jack rabbit and return a ball like a backboard.  She was quiet but very kind and complimentary whenever we played together. As time went on I figured out how to get her to talk more......ask about her girls... their upcoming weddings or better yet....Molly.  It was obvious Molly was the apple of her eye and she adored her.   Man....she could talk then and I loved it because I am a talker.  I will miss her fierce competitiveness as a partner and opponent.  I will miss her kindness and better yet......her quietness and sweet smile. Rest in peace, my tennis friend.

Susan was definitely a blessing! I was part of the Bible study that she lead at her house. She was a bright light in a dark time. I know we will always have an angel watching over us❤️ Sending love and prayers to the family 🙏🏾

So many of us got to know and enjoy Susan as a tennis player and friend.  She was a woman of integrity who could be counted on to do the right thing on and off the court.   She was always gracious and kind - whether she won or not.  It was obvious that while she really enjoyed tennis , her greatest joys in life were her  faith and her family.  I am so very sorry for your loss of such a wonderful person, daughter, wife, mother and aunt.   She leaves a big space in the lives of many.  May your memories and all that you learned from her give you comfort in the days to come as well as the blessed hope that you will all be united in heaven one day.

My aunt was dearly loved by all. I have too many memories to put down that could write a whole book.
From our trips with all of the cousins, to Panthers games and just family gatherings in general. We would always enjoy our time together and laugh together. One thing I know for a fact is that she loved her family. Leah and Lauren are not only her daughters but her best friends. Kenny is the love of her life and a wonderful father to his two daughters. I will forever be grateful for the time that I had spent with Susan in my life.

Susan helped us purchase our very first home just months before we got married in 2014. She was always on top of everything and just a kind, sweet soul. She helped us navigate a scary purchase and always put us at ease. She leaves behind a wonderful legacy through the people who will always remember her and the family she made. I will be praying for her husband and girls during this heartbreaking time 🙏

Susan was my realtor.  I moved to Charlotte 8 years ago.  I called her about one of her listings and we became friends quickly.  I bought the house and I also joined her bible study so our friendship lasted all these years.  I will miss her and her sweet temperament.  I’m so very saddened by this news, RIP Susan…prayers for the family 🙏🏻

Lauren, Leah, and Kenny…my thoughts and prayers are with you. Susan had such a kind and gentle spirit which made you gravitate toward her.  She lead our Captivating Women’s Bible Study group for over 10 years. She graciously opened up her home every week with love and fellowship. I had the honour and privilege to have Susan on the tennis court with me when teaching tennis clinics at WSRC. She was one of the kindest people that I’ve ever met. Such a wonderfully happy person and loved to be around her friends. She will be greatly missed.

Susan was my best friend all through school. We were best friends since first grade and we graduated Bandys  High School. She was always the sweetest person. She helped me so much along  the way growing up. A true friend that I will always treasure. She was in my wedding after graduation. She headed off to college while I married. Unfortunately we lost communication over the years. I would see her mom at times and we’d always talk about Susan and how she was doing. My heart is broken today as all the memories of my beloved friend comes flooding back. I pray for the family and the loss  of a special lady. I’m positive she’s up in heaven awaiting the day she’ll reunite with all the saints. May God bless us all.

I am so sorry for your loss. Susan was a wonderful person. When I moved to Charlotte and didn’t know a soul, she welcomed me into her home in her small group. She welcomed so many women like me, where we could connect and grow spiritually together. It meant to much to me. I am blessed to have known her. I am praying for comfort during this time of immense grief.

It is with a heavy heart that I am sharing my sincere thoughts and prayers to Susan's family and pet family who she loved immensely. I had the great honor of being her tennis buddy, real estate customer, and friend.  She was a comfort to me in so many ways especially when making some life changes in the Charlotte area. Sweet, gentle, kind, and humble... thoughts of Susan. Woman of solid faith in Jesus and a wonderful tennis player. I was blessed to be in a bible study in your home that she led. My daughter, Ariana pet sat your pups once and then later got her first job out of college from a recommendation that Susan and I gave to a gal in the group who took her resume into her marketing manager. I also was blessed to play tennis with Susan on a combo team (she was the better player who led and carried us). Susan and I were high school classmates at Bandys High School class of 1982.  She was always so kind, gracious, compassionate and had the best smile.  My sincere condolences to her family and friends.

Susan and I go back to the early days of meeting on the tennis courts in Hunter Oaks.  We became fast friends and always had so much fun playing tennis together!! She had such a calming and sweet way about her that I will always remember.  Sending my deepest sympathies and love to her family.

To Susan’s family, my deepest condolences to you on the loss of Susan. I have known Susan many years through tennis. She was a Captain extraordinaire and we always knew we were in good hands under her leadership. She loved her tennis, pets and family. I haven’t seen Susan in a number of years, but she was on my mind this week when I was watching Westminster Kennel Club. I fondly remember when she took in Mr. Bogey! 🥰

Chip and I send our prayers and love to Ken and the family.  Susan was always a kind and gentle spirit with a warm smile.  She loved her family and her friends.  She was beautiful on the inside as well as on the outside.  The people that she touched in life were blessed and we feel honored that she was a part of our life.  We are praying for peace and comfort for those who are missing her today.

Susan and I were friends and neighbors in Hunter Oaks. Most of our time  was spent together on the tennis court! She was an organized captain, dedicated partner and fierce competitor. She loved her friends and family on and off the court. She always made you feel special with an embroidered towel or personalized bag tag. She will be missed greatly.

We met Kenny and Susan at church.  I was blessed to attend a bible study that Susan hosted in her home for almost 10 years.   She was a dedicated and faithful facilitator.  Over the years, we prayed for each other and our families, laughed, and shed a few tears.  Susan was an encourager and loved her bible study ladies well.  I will miss her! "Well done good and faithful servant."  Matthew 25:23

I first met Susan through our daughters when they ran cross country together at Covenant Day School. Our daughters became fast friends, but it wasn't until I finally became a good enough tennis player to be on the same courts with Susan that I really got to know her. She was a fierce and fair competitor, and I only wanted to play on the same side of the court with her! 
When not playing tennis we loved talking about our girls and grand children. I am beyond sad to hear of Susan's passing but I find comfort in knowing where she is and who she is with today. I am praying that God continues to wrap his loving arms around this precious family and bring them peace and comfort in the days to come.

Susan was always full of a quiet peace that I so appreciated when playing alongside her on the court. Her smile was contagious, and I was always happy to know we were paired up for a match because she was a go getter and always such fun to play with! Our hearts in the tennis community are broken for the loss of an amazing person far too soon. She will be missed dearly.  Many love and prayers to her family and friends as they process this over the coming weeks and months- may Jesus wrap his loving arms around you during this time.

I had the pleasure of playing tennis with Susan many times, both as a partner and an opponent. She was always kind, fair, and a true competitor who made every match enjoyable. Her sportsmanship and love for the game were evident in every point she played. I will miss seeing her on the court. My deepest condolences to her family—she was a wonderful human being with a beautiful soul.

I met Susan on the tennis court about five years ago. A player's behavior during a match often reveals a lot about their character.

Susan always made her partner feel at ease on the court. She was encouraging and never blamed me for losing a point, even when it was my mistake. She celebrated my good shots, boosting my confidence. She treated opponents with respect and kindness.

In truth, this wasn't just Susan's behavior on the court—it was a reflection of who she is as a person.

Her warm smile and supportive nature will be deeply missed, both on and off the court.

Susan was a very competitive & organized tennis captain and I always enjoyed being on the tennis courts with her.  She was quiet but if you ever asked her about her family, she got a big smile :-) on her face and would start talking! I could always tell that her family brought her much happiness 💗! Please know she will be sorely missed at WSRC!!! Wishing  your family peace during this difficult time.
