

Mrs. Thelma Lee Parker Davis, 95, passed away on Tuesday April 11, 2017 at Carolinas Health in Waxhaw. She was born August 1, 1921 in Union County, daughter of the late Henry M. and Mattie Taylor Parker; she was also preceded in death by her husband, Vance Davis.
Survivors include her daughter Virginia (Ginny) Horne and husband Doug, granddaughter Kim Clontz (Bobby) and their daughters Maddy and Emma, grandson Jon Horne (Julie) and their children Vance and Molly. A native of Union County, Thelma lived a quiet life with a servant’s heart. As a loving and devoted wife and mother to Ginny, she extended her love to her two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She would do anything for her family, and they, in turn would always be there for her. Thelma loved flowers, and her yard reflected the care and beauty of prize-winning roses, lilies, irises and a variety of other plants and flowers. Thelma was the oldest life time member of Union United Methodist Church. When unable to attend services at Union, she followed services on television from the First Presbyterian Church in Charlotte. As the last member of the Parker family, Thelma, one of eight children was preceded in death by seven siblings: Martha Anglin, Edna Marze, Ethel McCoy, Mildred McCraven, Rachel Wheeler, Johnny and Neal Parker.
Services to celebrate her life will be Thursday, April 13, 2017 beginning at 4:00PM at Union United Methodist Church, with Reverend McKenzie Sefa officiating, interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will follow the graveside in the church fellowship hall.
