

He graduated from Forest Hills high school class of 1967
He was a highly decorated veteran of the Vietnam war having proudly served in the US Army. Earning numerous medals including the Purple Heart. Mr. Simpson was employed by Anson Machine shop retiring in 2012. He enjoyed fishing, people watching and spent most of his later years playing solitaire on his tablets. Larry was known to many as “Pie”. There are several stories on how he got this nickname, and he would tell you a different one every time he was asked.
Larry has been happily married to Jeanette Morris Simpson since 2013.

8 Grandchildren: Leslie, Gale, Ryan, Jesse, Carrie, Juanita, Hunter, Jonathan
10 Great Grandchildren: Eli, Jamie, Lydia, Caroline, Oliver, CJ, Kinsley, Autumn, Silas, Rowan
Larry was also predeceased by: Sue Helms (Sister), Lowel Simpson (Brother)
Larry's family would like to express their deep gratitude to the VA and the hospice staff for their wonderful care.
Visitation will be on Friday 5/29 from 6 - 9pm. The Funeral will be on Saturday 5/30 at 11am. McEwen Funeral Home in Monroe will be handling both services. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Lakeland Cemetery.
