Annelle Davis Haynes we born on January 31, 1921 in Atlanta, Georgia, the fifth child of seven born to Thomas Jefferson Davis and Cora Elizabeth Hackett. She passed away on July 6, 2018 while a resident of Woodmont Assisted Living in Tallahassee, Florida. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, a fact that amazed her always. She was predeceased in death by her husband, Quillion and her three sons – Thomas, Robert and Richard.
She traveled to many military posts with her Navy husband and three sons including Panama but finally settled in Montgomery in 1958 where she remained until health issues made it necessary to more to Tallahassee for the remaining three years of her life.
She will be remembered by those who knew her best as a gentle, kind spirit who was generous and strong. She remains irreplaceable.
A parlor service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018 in Alabama Heritage Funeral Home's Magnolia Room. No formal service is planned, per Annelle’s wishes, but we ask that you come prepared to share your memories of the good times with her.
Donations may be made in her memory to Covenant Hospice at 1921 Capital Circle NE, Tallahassee, FL 32308.
