Mr. Steele was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Montgomery for over 50 years. Following his graduation from Carver High School, he entered the United States Army on December 1, 1952, until September 23, 1954, serving in the Korean war.
Upon returning from the war Ben was employed by the V.A. Hospital of Montgomery serving 34 years as General Foreman of Maintenance Service
Ben was preceded in death by his Parents Lola and Ben Steele Sr. and the remainder of his Siblings: William Steele, Ora Thurman, Myrtle Corbin, Ardella McNair, Dorothy Steele, and Joseph Steele.
He leaves to cherish his fondest memories a Son Jeffery Bennett Steele, Daughters Albertine Eugenia Steele, Saba Berthane - Haile all of Montgomery, Al. Granddaughters’ Christian Reign (United States Navy) and Lexxus Banita of Montgomery, nieces and nephews, and very close friends: Fronnie Heningburg and Lucinda Scott (Caregiver).
