I didn't know Ben personally, but I saw the deep love the Ben and his father had at church and and in worship. I couldn't help thinking with great joy that Ben was singing along with us this past Sunday night in worship.

Dear David, Shana and Family,
We cannot imagine the emotions you are experiencing right now. Ben was a very special and unique young man who made his presence known and made a difference in the lives of everyone who knew him. Please accept our sincere sympathies. You and your family have been in our prayers. The Lord knew that he placed Ben into the right home. Only He knows why he called him home so soon. God bless you all.
In Him,

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.
October 13, 2012
I lost my father in March, but I can't imagine what it is like to lose a son. I hope you'll always cherish the times you shared supporting the Commodores, win or lose. Ben got to enjoy a bowl game, numerous NCAA tournament trips, and a College World Series. God bless you, and I hope you receive comfort in the fact that Ben is in the loving arms of our lord.

To the Proctor family:
I am a VU alum and dedicated Vandymania reader. I have met you both on occasion, always at VU sporting events. I have an autistic son, Hamilton, who loves the Dores. He is now 15. My oldest, Harris, who is gifted, just applied to VU.
Actually, he is not our oldest. We lost their older brother, Carter, two years ago. Thus, we know your pain, on every level.
I will miss your wonderful recounts of your times together, but treasure these memories. I know I will.

While only experiencing this young man through his father's touching stories, his memory will be published forever on internet message boards and in loved ones' hearts. The scope of his inspiration may likely never be measured but trust it is exponentially more than those can envision.

David,
I have struggled with what words to write. I just finished looking at all the pictures of Ben and they remind me of what an incredible young man he was. I remember the day Ben was born and how concerned your Alfa family was for you and Robin. Little did we know there was really no reason for concern because God knew exactly what he was doing. Ben flourished and what an awesome life he lived! And, these pictures just remind us that he enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you for allowing your Alfa friends to have the privilege of knowing Benjamin David Proctor.

Ben was such a wonderful person. I remember when he joined the choir, he sang whole-heartedly with energy and joy! He loved leading the choir in singing happy birthday and was directing Alan once in a while! What a precious young man. God bless you all.

I do not know your family personally, but I feel like I have a special bond with you as I had a Down Syndrome brother who passed away last September, 2011, at the age of 65 years old. We knew that our 'Johnny' was a special gift from the Lord and we felt so blessed to have been chosen to have him be a part of our family. We miss him and think about him every day but the Lord has given us the strength to get through it because we know he is with the Lord now and he is so happy and we are happy for him. We have precious memories of the years we had with him and we hold them more dear to our hearts now. And to think that one day you will see your son again and we will see Johnny again and what a glorious day that will be!

Ben was truly a 1 of a kind guy. he was so loving and smart. He knew how to work each and everyone of us , with his wit, good looks and great personality. I truly understand why God would want him in heaven. And if he could come down from heaven for 1 hour he would tell you Robbin, Rachael and David "It's ok don't cry" with his arm around your shoulder or patting you on your leg. Oct 8th was a great day in heaven, but a devastating day for all of us who love and cherish Ben-Jo-man.
