
Sawyer, Bobbie Ruth Putman passed away at home in Montgomery, Al on February 7, 2013 at the age of 80. Her parents, five brothers and three sisters, her soul mate and loving husband H.G. “Buzz” Sawyer, Sr, and her youngest son, Timothy Sawyer, predecease her. She is survived by her oldest son, H.G. “Buzz” Sawyer, Jr, daughter-in-law Vicki, three grandchildren Lena Sawyer Oliver (husband Jon), Amy Sawyer and Wesley Sawyer, and two great-grandchildren Caden Sawyer and Jon David Oliver. Bobbie was born on October 13, 1932 in Cullman County, Al. She graduated from Hanceville High School and married army veteran H.G. “Buzz” Sawyer. They raised their two sons in Pensacola, Fl and eventually moved to Montgomery, Al, where they settled down and retired. Buzz and Bobbie started a successful family business to which they dedicated their lives. They still had time for fun, as they loved to travel and go to Auburn football games. They were very involved in their church, Pine Forest Baptist/Heritage Baptist and had lifelong friends there. Bobbie was an amazing Christian woman, wife, mother and role model. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a true joy for life. She loved her family dearly and was the happiest spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Alabama Heritage on Sunday, February 10 from 12-2 with a graveside service to follow. “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31
