On February 23, 2021, Bobby Bledsoe stepped into the presence of his Savior after a long battle with dementia. Born September 6, 1938 in Newnan Georgia the middle child of Wayne and Corene Bledsoe who preceded him in death. He grew up in the Arnco neighborhood with many loving neighbors including his adopted family Pat, Essie, Myrt, Edsel and Gail Houseworth.
Bobby loved his Lord, family and country. He served in the Air Force Reserves and his community as a member of the Montgomery Water Board for over 25 years. He was a past member of Dalraida Baptist Church and is presently a member of Eastmont Baptist Church. Many families owe wonderful memories of baseball and softball to Bobby as one of the founders of the AUM baseball league. Bobby graduated from his beloved University of Georgia with a Bachelors degree in Landscape Architecture. He passionately served in his career with the US Forest Service laying hiking trails and recreational parks in beautiful areas in Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, and Alabama. Never one to slow down after retirement, he started a private business to continue designing parks and public areas for all to enjoy.
Bobby is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years Judy Ferguson Bledsoe, son Brian Bledsoe, daughter Cindy Bledsoe Cox (Mark), grandsons Colman Bradwell (Morgan) and William Bradwell (fiance Madi Grover), great granddaughter Norah James Bradwell, his brother Peniston Bledsoe (Margie), his sister Gail Bledsoe White (Charles), mother-in-law Lauris Ferguson, brother-in-law Ron Ferguson (Margie), and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation for Bobby will be held Sunday, February 28, 2021 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home, 10505 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, AL 36117. A celebration of life will occur Sunday, February 28, 2021 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM 10505 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, AL 36117. A burial will occur at Alabama Heritage Cemetery, 10505 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, Alabama 36117.
