Charles Wayne Norton

He leaves behind son Jared Norton and his wife Jennifer and their 3 children in Atlanta as well as son Dr. Andrew Norton and his 2 children in Panama City. Chuck was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on November 13, 1947. He has 3 older sisters, Romaine, Catherine, and Betty Lou. He graduated from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville in 1966 and received an MBA from Samford University in Birmingham, AL in 1981.

Chuck worked for Travelers Insurance Company early in his career and Molton, Allen, &

Williams Insurance Agency in Birmingham. He later worked for Aronov Insurance in Montgomery and finally for Turner Insurance & Bonding before retiring. Chuck was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church where he served as Deacon. His favorite hobbies were golf and playing his guitar. He enjoyed baseball, tennis, and football and enjoyed watching the Virginia Cavaliers whenever he could. He believed in the importance of education, helping to fund his sons' college education as well as giving back to his alma mater over the

years. One of his joys later in his life were spending time with his grandchildren Hannah, Alaina, Andrew, Katie, and Samuel. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Chuck’s family will host a celebration of life service on Thursday December 21, 2023 at 1:00pm. The service will be at Grace Presbyterian Church in Montgomery, AL.
