

Charles R. “Bob” Owen, Jr. a resident of Montgomery, Alabama died Saturday, June 25th, 2011 at Jackson Hospital. He was 79. Bob was born in Macon, Georgia, May 19, 1932 and grew up in Macon as well as various Army posts around the U.S. and world. He graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in Macon and later from Mercer University with a B.A. in Church History. Bob and his wife Jossie moved to Montgomery, Alabama in 1960 where they raised their family of three children. Bob retired in 1987 after almost 28 years as a Pharmaceutical Sales representative for Astra Zeneca.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years Jossie, his daughter Julie O. Snyder, and sons Bob III and Stuart. He will also be greatly missed by his daughter-in-law Janet Baba Owen, son-in-law Chuck Snyder, and a ‘quiver’ full of grandchildren, Mary, Anna, Micah, Seth, AmyLaura, John, Luke, Robert IV, and Daniel Owen of North Carolina, Alyssa Snyder of Idaho, and Philip and Amber Owen of Prattville. His Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 5, at 10 AM, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, followed by a Memorial Service at 11 AM (at the church), with Rev. Glen Pugh officiating.
