

She was born on July 11, 1938 in Akita-ken, Japan. Chitako and her husband, Larry Berzas, were married for nearly 53 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and sister-in-law. She was a selfless and kind nurturer who always took great care in making sure her family and friends were taken care of.
In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, oil painting, sewing, fishing, and cooking for her family. She loved classical music and played the guitar and piano.
She is survived by her husband: Larry Berzas; daughter: Jennifer Berzas Luster; grandsons: Alec and Matthew Luster; sister-in-laws: Ellavon Laird and Gwendolyn Barzar; nieces: Yukie Sato Takahashi, Norma Mills, Hilda Barzar, Rhonda Barzar, Laura Pitre, Faye Walling and Ophelia Galliano; nephews, Terry Laird, John Laird, Charles Barzar, and Joey Pitre; many great nieces and nephews
She is preceded in death by her parents: Father - Kenichiro Sato; Mother – Jin Sano Sato; Sisters: Nobuko Sato and Kaneko Sato; niece – Katsumi Sato Akimoto; brother in laws: Shirley Barzar, Roland Pitre, and A.D. Laird; sister in law: Etheline Berzas Pitre
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Alabama Heritage in Montgomery, AL.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 pm and Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 pm.
