Clyde James "Jim" Watson II, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, October 27, 2024. Born on January 31, 1950, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Jim was known for his boundless generosity, deep empathy, and unwavering faith, which impacted everyone he encountered.
Jim blessed those he met with his attentive listening and genuine curiosity, making everyone feel valued. He believed deeply in the power of dreams and dedicated himself to inspiring others to pursue their own. With his favorite saying, "Interested people are interesting," Jim made it his life’s mission to invest in the lives of family, friends, and even strangers, always encouraging others to find new dreams and pursue them wholeheartedly. "Never too old to dream a new dream" was not just a saying—it was how he lived his life.
Over the past 30 years, Jim’s passion for connection and encouragement shone through the magazines he launched, reaching countless individuals in various life stages. His latest endeavor, *Boom!*—a popular magazine for those navigating life after 50—was a testament to his commitment to meeting people where they are and equipping them for life’s journey. Whether families, fellow Christians, or baby boomers embarking on their second act, Jim’s work elevated and inspired his community.
Jim's faith was his foundation, and he cherished his relationship with Jesus Christ above all else. Though he came to faith in his 40s, inspired by his family, the writings of C.S. Lewis, and other thoughtful Christian voices, he developed a profound love and gratitude for his Savior. Recently, his faith blossomed through the nurturing community of Christchurch Anglican, where he grew closer to the Lord. Each morning began with devotion and prayer alongside his beloved wife, Sandy, a routine that remained the sweetest part of his day.
Jim leaves behind a legacy of love, purpose, and faith. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, readers, and everyone blessed to know him.
